Hard work! The very important thing that has to be taught to kids when they are young. But will they listen if we make them sit and give a speech about Hard work? A big no. Right? How it is to tell them through a story? The Grasshopper & the Ants is one such delightful story about hard work and this also teaches a great moral “There’s a time for work and a time for play” to the readers.

While the ants quickly gather supplies for the winter a grasshopper enjoys his life with full of picnics, fishing, jumping in the leaves, playing in the snow and playing his musical instruments. It can’t understand why the ants’ work is so huge. Is the grasshopper just flaunting his activity or being selfish in his actions? Because he asks the ants many times to join him but the ants who are stable in their work, tell him that they have a task to complete. As the snow starts falling, the ants disappear and grasshopper is all alone now
This is one such classic tale from Pinkney this time about a happy-go-lucky Grasshopper and the super hard-working and productive group of ants. Not just the story but also the illustrations are just awesome and they will surely keep kids hooked with every page.
