I want those pink hair clips, black shoes, blue frock, and that orange lipstick too. We see children asking many things daily. They usually ask everything that is catchy to their eyes. Not just kids, many of us would like to be fancy in everything from the dress we wear to words we talk. Kids usually get inspired by Barbie, Cinderella and sometimes even try to replicate the characters they see on screen.

So to be fancy, sometimes they ask us to spend huge money and also trouble others. This is the story of a little girl named Nancy, who always prefers to be more fancy from head to toe. She dresses up, the words, everything she uses are fancy. Nancy also demands life to be extraordinary. And tries to change her family to be fancy. Nancy tries to teach them how to become fancy but they make fun of her.
In the end, an accident occurs and Nancy realises that it’s ok for her family not to be fancy, because at the end what matters is that they love her a lot. Nancy is a larger than life personality, and it’s fun to see the world from her perspective. The idea of the story is simple but the way authors projected it is excellent.
Kids, especially girls, will surely adore this beautiful book by Jane O’Connor. A delightfully fun read with beautiful illustrations and words spread all over. After reading do let us know if there are any fancy Nancy’s in your home.
