Gandhi Ji is the one who fought for Indian independence from British rule and for the rights of the Indians. His weapons are truth and non-violence. His full name is Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi, Born on October 2nd, 1869. There is so much to learn about Gandhiji that no one book or movie can be sufficient to know all. In our quest to search for good books for children, we found the following book to be a great read for kids.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi’s book by Aditi De is one of those amazing books in Great lives series by Scholastic. This book starts off with Gandhi Ji’s early life and his time in South Africa. There is a long list of facts about Gandhi in bullet points, which makes it easier to read for readers of any age group.
The narration by the author is very simple and the graphics by Pooja Pottenkulam compliments it beautifully. There are also some unusual photographs from Gandhi Ji’s life and some quirky illustrations will keep the reader involved in the book. This is one of the best introductions to Gandhi for young children.
