This is for all those kids who think they are different from others. This is the story of a little boy Auggie Pullman who was born with a facial difference. The author of “Wonder” has written this amazing book but from a child’s perspective. Auggies always believes that he isn’t ordinary. He does things like every other kid but doesn’t look like an ordinary boy. Auggies wants others to look at him for who he is, as a wonder.
Usually, parents and any other elders teach kids that they need to show some empathy and kindness towards others. The same thing was told by the author in a beautiful way with a simple story. We see children throwing things at animals in zoos, making fun of others. They do such things because they weren’t taught how wrong it is to hurt someone. They assume it to be funny. As parents, we need to teach them when they are young that it is nothing less than bullying. We need to make them understand how good the world will be everyone is kind to each other rather than hurting.
The book was quite impressive it actually puts forth the feelings of a little boy who has a facial difference. The best part is the way he uses his imagination to escape from the ones who make fun of him. Everyone is a wonder we need to accept what God has given us, the moral was extremely well narrated. The illustrations are just perfect for the story. It’s a simple read for growing children and elders too.
